The main cities of MARCHE
The major cities and towns of Marche start with the regional capital of Ancona, the busy port city on the Adriatic Coast.
Marche is divided up into five provinces, four of which are named after the main city within it, Ancona for example being the capital of the Ancona Province.
The cities of Ascoli-Piceno, Macerata and Fermo are all provincial capitals, while the Pesaro and Urbino province takes the name of two large towns. The coastal town of Pesaro is the official provincial capital, while smaller Urbino is a beautiful hill town.
